The main topics of the symposium
The regional APCOM is designed to bring together all those interested in the application of computers, mathematics, geostatistics, operational research, and management science in the minerals industries in the regional area and internationally.
The symposium is a good opportunity for discussion of new and potential developments in the use of mathematical methods and computers for planning, designing, and managing mineral projects, particularly in the broad disciplines of exploration, geology, mine planning, mining, processing, metallurgy, and management.
The organizing committee invited abstracts of papers on application of computers and operational research techniques in the following fields:
- Mine planning and simulation
- Ore linearization and ore body modeling
- The challenge of managing mine in real-time
- Ore type based mining and mineral processing
- Diagnostics and preventive maintenance
- Advanced control applications of industrial processes
- Intelligent fault detection
- Diagnostics and support for process equipment
- Remote operation, teleoperation to automation
- Networks in mines and machines
- Mine safety and application of new technology
- Monitoring and controlling the environmental impact of a mine
- Use of multimedia in plant documentation and training
- Virtual reality
