PRESENTATION GUIDELINES

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Abstract Content
Authors are asked to submit papers that fall within the Conference topics.
Each abstract must clearly and concisely outline the material being proposed for presentation.
Include in your abstract only the information that the Evaluation Committee will need to comprehend the scope of work and to determine its relevance.
Abstracts with a strong commercial slant will be rejected.
Abstract Format
Abstracts must be in English and cannot exceed one page. Prepare the abstract on plain white paper
in a standard size (either 8½ x 11 inches or A4). Use a 12-point serif font (e.g. CG Times, Times Roman)
and leave 1-inch (2.5 cm) margins left, right, top, and bottom. Centre the title (maximum 10 words, all-caps, bold type)
at the top of the page. Leave one blank line after the title and list all authors and their affiliations - employer
(omit division, department, etc), city, state/province (if applicable), and country.
Bold and italicize the name of the author expected to make the presentation at the Conference.
Leave a blank line after the authors and begin the text.
Type the text single-spaced, justifying only the left margin.
Leave one blank line between paragraphs; do not indent paragraphs.
Abstract Submission
A separate sheet listing the address, telephone and fax numbers, email addresses for all authors and
the suggested location of the paper with respect to the Conference themes must accompany each abstract submission.
A letter confirming receipt will be mailed to the presenting author within five working days. The deadline for
acceptance of abstracts is December 31, 2000. Two copies of the abstract and the authors' information sheet can
be submitted by:

Review
A Evaluation Committee will review all abstracts. Abstracts received by the December, 2000 deadline will be
reviewed for clarity of writing, technical merit, relevance to the Conference, contribution to the advancement
of the industry, and level of interest to practitioners and users in the industry. When assigning accepted abstracts
to the program agenda, the Program Committee will consider the authors' suggestions as to topic theme, but will make
the final decision on placement within the Conference program.
Abstracts with a strong commercial slant will be rejected.
Author Policy
All published material and presentations will be in English. Since registration fees are the major source
of funding for the Conference, and because a significant percentage of registrants will make program presentations,
all presenting authors are expected to register and pay the standard fees. APCOM 2001 will not reimburse authors for
any expenses incurred.
