Some information about Riba

I'm a post-graduate student at Aalto University at the School of Electrical Engineering. I received Masters degree from Helsinki University of Technology in 2009, majoring in Telecommunication Systems, with minors Microelectronic Circuit Design and Signal Processing. I'm currently on working full-time as an researcher at the department of Communications and Networking. In addition I work part-time as a UNIX/network adminstrator for the school, and I am a partner at a small hosting company.

My personal interests include Linux, science fiction (member of the defunct Spock's HUT), anime (member of Otakut and regularly lurk on #otakut at IRCNet), digital signal processing and embedded microcontrollers (especially the ubiquitous PIC and AVR).

My hardware

I've accumulated various hardware from a number of sources. Some of them include:

• Intel C2D E7200, my main desktop. Runs Debian/Testing and is attached to two 24" TFTs.
• Asrock ION, Atom-330 w/nVidia ION chipset, mediabox.
• HP Mininote-2133, netbook with VIA C7M. Gotta love that brushed aluminum.
• Macmini G4/1.4GHz. Real cutiepie. Nowadays a buildbot.
• Gaming, I mostly run Linux, on low-power hardware, so I have separate gaming computers..
  • 10x gaming PCs with various hardware. Too detailed to list here.
• Consoles, I got hooked on japanese shmups and Soul Calibur. Plus the peripherals are interesting
  • 2x PS3, with PSeye, move controller. One is original japanese model with PS2 chipsets, the other Slim.
  • 2x PStwos, with few controllers, lightguns, two mics, eyetoy and guitarhero controller...
  • Dreamcast, with full complement of controllers and two lightguns.
  • Xbox, just to play Steel Battalion.
  • Xbox360, orig model.
• Some DSP evaluation boards, DSP56002 and two TMS320C50
• IBM SG-2100+ Power-iA platform (NS Geode + 2x 10/100 Ethernet and orinoco wavelan, a real treat)
