Current position

December 2010 - present: postdoctoral researcher at the Aalto University School of Engineering, Department of Real Estate, Planning and Geoinfomtics. Responsible teacher for the following subjects: Engineering Geodesy, GIS and Geodetic measurements, Statistical methods in geodesy, and Seminar course in Geodesy, Navigation and Positioning.

Previous research and teaching appointments

January 2009 - November 2010: senior research scientist at the Finnish Geodetic Institute, Department of Navigation and Positioning, various tasks in the system implementation part (WP330) of the "3D-Personal Navigation and Location-Based Service for the World Exposition in Shanghai in 2010" project, funded by the Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation (TEKES).

January 30 - March 1, 2009: guest researcher at gAGE, Technical University of Catalonia (UPC), Barcelona, SPAIN. The topic of my visit was: Ionosphere effect mitigation for single-frequency Precise Point Positioning.

April - August 2008: site manager, responsible with the operation and maintenance of the EGNOS RIMS station in Finland in cooperation with ESSP(European Satellite Service Provider). More here.

June 2006 - December 2008: researcher scientist at Finnish Geodetic Institute, Department of Navigation and Positioning, responsible with the geo-referencing solution for the mobile mapping systems as part of "Transportation data acquisition by means of ICT-derived 3D-modelling" project, funded by the Academy of Finland.

November 2005 - March 2006: teaching assistant at the Division of Geodesy, Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Stockholm, responsible of all exercises in "Analysis of measurements", "Advanced Theory of Errors" and "Physical Geodesy".

October 1999 - August 2004: teaching assistant at the Department of Cadastre at Technical University of Iasi, responsible with practical applications, exercises, and seminars for following subjects: "Theory of errors", "Surveying", and "Applied Geodesy".

Other professional experience

August 2002 - August 2004: manager and team leader of the Geodesy and Surveying Division at the Topo Geo Cad SRL, Iasi, Romania.

January - December 2001: technical member in the commission within Technical University of Iasi, in order to place the real-estate properties belonging to Technical University of Iasi, under cadastral database and juridical registration in Land Register.

May 2000: technical member in a contract with the City Council of Iasi under the title "Testing the Tudor Vladimirescu's Bridge of Iasi City in Static State and Dynamic State Conditions. Measurement of Arrows by accurate Geodetic Measurements".
